About

I am a recipe developer, food writer and consultant whose upbringing in rural Oxfordshire revolved around two questions: what are you reading, and what’s for dinner? With a mother determined to grow her own and a seasoned food writer for a father, pursuing the union between food and words feels like my natural calling.

Having initially spent five years working for Rose Gray and Ruthie Rogers at the River Café, the seasonal, straightforward cooking of my childhood took on a new significance, confirming my belief that exceptional food can be created with just a few simple ingredients. I applied this mantra at Jamie Magazine, where I spent a couple of years learning how to write recipes and style shoots, and a further two years working with chef Stevie Parle on his cookbooks and weekly Daily Telegraph columns. I then spent eight happy years working alongside Thomasina Miers helping with her Guardian Feast column and cookbooks.

After a successful stint running my own catering and consultancy company with a friend, in 2016, I became the resident recipe developer at Natoora, fruit and vegetable supplier to London’s most prestigious chefs. Over the course of four years, I created the recipes for Natoora’s extensive Food-to-Go range, which are sold on Ocado and in delis across London, and created the menu for their first seasonal cafe in West London.

As a freelancer, I have worked with a range of clients, including Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, Cadbury, The Gagosian, Meera Sodha, Google, Arts Council England, Penguin Random House, Square Peg. My work has appeared in: The Telegraph, The Wall Street Journal, Waitrose Food, House and Garden, Guardian Cook, Tesco Magazine and The Week.
